At Michigan Pure Soy we keep our candles as free from toxins as possible. While a colored candle may look festive, many candles contain artificial dyes and fragrances, which can release harmful chemicals into your environment. Together, all these toxic particles—including soot that are released into the air has proven to cause awful things like allergies, lung issues, cardiac problems, and autoimmune diseases.

How it all began
My wife, Keli, and I enjoy traveling to Michigan's Upper Peninsula (Mackinac Island, Tahquamenon Falls, Gaylord, and the surrounding areas) to take a break from the daily grind and relax in nature. During our trips, I used to purchase candles from various shops to take home with us, both homemade and well known brands. And although the glowing souvenirs reminded me of our trips, I began to take a real interest in them, how they were made, and how they burn.
My preference for soy candles came about when I learned that they were healthier and cleaner burning, this being very important to me and my family. Seeing my interest grow, Keli suggested we learn more and we took a class to began making our own.
What started out as a means to unwind turned to a hobby and eventually became a business of sharing our joy of the healthiest and best candles for our family and friends. Our goal is to make candles that you love, smell fantastic and look great in your space!
